Hello to all,

For those like me that have their WIFI router connected to a modem in a specific place of their house, there is an easy and cheap solution to add WIFI capacities to your ethernet shield.
This is simply done by using a mini router that you can buy on internet for less than 20$.
I found this solution while searching the web trying to solve my connection problems.
You can check this site http://www.lucadentella.it/en/2012/12/0 ... rduino-11/ for more informations.
This product comes from TP LINK with reference WR702N.
All you have to do is configure it to "client mode".
Configuration is very easy but you have to check the firmware version of your router because process are differents.
For firmware version 130314 or older see TP-LINK web site and search for FAQ 395.
For firmware version 130528 or later see TP-LINK web site and search for FAQ 612.
Once the router is connected to your ethernet shield, you can place your Ferduino wherever you want ( in your house ).

Best regards,

Jean-Yves

Hi!

Is possible still use this router as a shield with a small "technical adaptation".

More details here: How to make a simple Arduino wireless shield

I think that the option to connect the GROUND wasn't the better.

The board have many points of GND common and more easy to connect.

I have just got a Vonets 300mbps mini wifi bridge from ebay - item 151248706435 for £10.59 and it works great. Very small too and runs off 5v so you can use a phone charger or link it directly to your project.
