Hello everyone, I am starting a new project for my 450l reef. My intent is using 360w/m2, thus, I gotta have 324w. anyone have any suggestions to choose the led lights?

How can I choose the best driver and calculate the correct tension for all those led bulbs?

What else do I need to buy to set this Led Lamp?
What is the difference in use a power supply of 24, 36 or 48 V?
where can I find these items cheaper prices to import to Brazil?

Thank you all

Jah Bless.

Hi!

Welcome Bruno!

Firstly you need show us the specifications of LEDs that already have.

The driver and power supply depends of how you will separate the colors (channels).

In others words, you'll use LEDs in serie or parallel, how many LEDs to each serie or in parallel.

Best regards.

I already have 5 white leds 10w and 4 blue leds 10w

I was thinking of
6 - cyan 3w
6 - violet 3w
6 - green 3w
6 - red 3w
10 - UV 3w
8 - deep blue 3w
16 - Cool white 3w
16 - Royal blue 3w

I have no idea about how separate the colors by the channels
how many chanels do you think should be ok?
What do you think about cyan, violet, green and red in one channel; one channel for blue, other for white and another for UV? totaling 4channels?

6 - cyan 3w - 3,4V - 700mA
6 - violet 3w - 3,4V - 700mA
6 - green 3w - 3,4v~3.9V - 1000mA
6 - red 3w - 3,3V - 1000mA
10 - UV 3w - 5V - 350mA
8 - deep blue 3w - 3.3V - 1000mA
16 - Cool white 3w - 3.3V - 1000mA
16 - Royal blue 3w - 3,3V - 1000mA

thats it

Thanks =)

Hi!

This quantity of voltages and current seems a bit complicated to separate.

For now my suggestion is use a power supply of 48 V running at 49 V.

Use drivers LDD 350, 700 and 1000 H from Mean Well

1º channel royal blue:

14 x 3,3 V @1000 mA, total voltage = 46,20 V.

2º channel cool white:

14 x 3,3 V @1000 mA, total voltage = 46,20 V.

3º channel UV:

9 x 5 V @1000 mA, total voltage = 45 V.

Now look on datasheet if green LEDs can work at 3,4@700 mA. Maybe you can join violet, cyan and green in a channel.

Here an example for XPE-G2.

It can work at 2.9 V @ 700 mA or 3.15 V @ 1500 mA.
