Hi guys,

I recently started a project to build a simple LED lighting based on 12V strip leds.
I am just a beginner with hardware so I would need an expert to help me choosing the right MOSFET for doing this.

I red some tutorials about this topic and the only thing I understood is that Arduino is compatible with Logic level MOS only and in addition they should be N-Mosfet!

I have 2 channels (blue and white): whites are made of 25 strip leds (each is just 50cm long), 12v and 0,60a each for a total of 15A, for each channel.
Is it possible to drive ALL of them with 1 single MOSFET ? which type you recommend for my project?

The blue leds have a lower current so no problem, i can use another mosfet the same as for the white.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi!

For 15 A the IRLZ44N can be used. According to this datasheet it can drive until 47 A.

Is recommended install a heatsink on MOSFET.

Best regards.

Hi Fernando,

do you think I should use some resistor? In many tutorial I have red 220Ohm, but in some other 10K...so I am a bit confused about how to choose the right one?

just a last stupid question: 100R stands for 100 Ohm resistor, right?
Thanks
