hi all. First of all sorry my English because I am Spanish and use google translator.

I show my new LED screen. is manufactured with recycled material found in a dumpster, it would be of any trade that has closed since the economy.
They are a case of hanging lamps T8 I found several units and after looking at them I saw a modification possible to transform into a more or less nice led screen for freshwater aquarium.
these are some of the screens found. The first thing to do was to cut 2 pieces lengthwise, using the top rail to be hung I use to place between the opposite side and an aluminum profile as a junction. once this is done .. in the bottom where there is a iran leds profile just to support a 1mm aluminum plate as a mask for the LEDs. on top taking advantage of a junction that had after cutting .. Can I put a 3mm aluminum plate to perfection where you will be joining with the relevant ceiling bracket with towropes.
once we have done this ... more or less a visually more similar to an aquarium screen structure. presents some of the units in the mask led 1mm to see proper disposal.
And I've also handmade one side which harbored any fan unit for ventilation and 2 more units in the upper plate of 3mm. but for now here I hope to keep up with her soon.

Hi!

Welcome Ricard!

This height is enough to heatsink + LED + lens + coolers?

Image

You'll put some protection for LED's as glass or acrylic?

Bes regards.

hi fernando. the height is sufficient if yesterday buy new heatsinks. a dissipative bars 1200mmx100x20 measures have purchased 3 units to be joined by way of a sink together. LEDs are protected with eyeglasses simply protected with 1mm aluminum plate. the picture you have shown is the top floor which was used to mask mode .. is the same plate which in previous photos has all the markings of where the power led about iran. said plate must be drilled all the circles of power led and just poked the top of the lens. Not if you know what I mean .. just be a trim to cover cables .. Sinks .. etc.etc.

thanks for the comments .. I hope you like the work once finished.

a little update today .. I had to cut out a professional 2 longitudinal bars and put them squarely since I cutting radial saw.

once done this ... I have resubmitted the whole .. with sinks to know that storage do I have to place ventilation .. but I think that will be enough.

the craftsmanship that has gone into this light is amazing, that is a beautiful light man, well done, congratulation on a successful job
thank you very much. I hope soon to bring the LED screen painting. this to decide if the color white or light gray. my wife chooses the color. and failure to decide whether a rotary engine is installed for powering the LED screen.

hi all .. as of today I still soldering leds on the screen and have little time. but the little time I have I also decided to start with the installation of a tubular motor for driving the LED display. I used a very economical engine 20nm RF purchased on ebay. an axis of 60mm.
The electrical installation is to test provisional. After the installation a covered aluminum will be held to cover the entire drive system.
You have some pictures and a video.
